5, Alternate D, Two deft Bank Ladders with Fish Passage Through •
Power Canal and a New Open Channel.
An alternate very similar to that described above could be
located in the power canal. For this alternate, an open channel connect-
ing the power canal to the river would be used for fish migration instead
of the canal headgates.
6. Alternate E, Ladder Through Existing Sluice Gate.
A vertical slot/orifice ladder could be located through an
existing riverward sluice gate. The remaining sluice gate could be regu-
lated for proper fish attraction conditions. This alternate provides
louvers at the headgates and a trash shear boom from the upstream end of
the ladder to the left bank.
7. Alternate F, Ladder Through Spillway Crest Adjacent. to
Sluice Gates.
A vertical slot/orifice ladder could be located adjacent to
the sluice gates. This alternate provides a combination louver and trash
boom from the upstream end' of the ladder to the left bank.
8. Alternate G, Ladder Through Spillway Crest Near Right
Abutment.
A vertical slot/orifice ladder could be located through the
spillway crest near the right abutment of the diversion dam. An addi-
tional sluice gate, located, between the ladder and the right abutment,
would provide attraction flow. This alternate provides louvers at the
headgates to prevent adult fish from entering the power canal.
9. Alternate H, Ladder Through Spillway Crest Near Center of
Dam.
A vertical slot/orifice ladder could be located near the
center of the spillway. An additional sluice gate adjacent to the ladder
would provide attraction flow. This alternate provides louvers at the
headgates and a trash boom upstream of the existing sluice gates.
10. Alternate I, Right and Left Bank .Ladders.
Vertical slot/orifice ladders could be located on both
banks. The right bank ladder would include attraction flow from a new
sluice gate. The left bank ladder would be located adjacent (riverward)
of the existing sluice gates. This alternate also provides a combination •
8
