• <br />regarding development of water resources was made to encourage <br />industrial development. <br />2.23 The opportunity for certain industries to locate in the <br />study area may be dependent on whether water supplies for <br />industrial needs will actually be available. Since major <br />industrial projects require very long lead times for planning and <br />design, industries may be hesitant to project future expansions <br />or to commit to new developments without knowing whether <br />industrial water supplies will actually be available. <br />OTHER WATER NEEDS <br />2.24 Other possible needs for water resources exist in the <br />Little Snake River basin. These include other possible <br />municipal, industrial and agricultural users as well as present <br />and future recreational resources. <br />2.25 The proposed construction of Stage III of the Little Snake <br />River Water Management Project would divert additional water <br />across the Continental Divide for municipal- use in' the North <br />Platte basin. As with Stages I and II, none of this water would <br />be returned to the Little Snake Rivex. <br />2.26 In addition to those industrial users previously <br />identified, other possible industrial uses for water resources in <br />the Little Snake River basin include tanneries and hydroponics <br />companies. Water appropriated for industrial uses can be <br />reallocated on a year-to-year basis for agricultural use as <br />supplies are available.
