HumF~back chub habitats throughout the Upper Basin will be
mapped as part of a cooperative agreement between CnOW and_USFWS.
The habitat maps are based primarily on species distribution, and
may be incomplete. The possible discovery of new populations, or
the resolution of taxonomic questions, could result in more complete
maps in the future.
Humpback chub activity areas are identified based on
information presented in UCRBCC (1984). Habitat maps for humpback
chub will conform to this document until an updated version is
produced. Four activity area types are identified for adult
humpback chubs They are 1) distribution, 2) concentration areas, 3)
confirmed spawning areas, 4) suspected spawning areas. These
activity area types are defined in Appendix B.
