PERENNIAL/INTERMITTENT STREAMS <br />1. Status of Fisheries in Streams: Most streams in side canyons have not had <br />surveys conducted to determine the status of fisheries. Streams connected <br />with Lake Powell (below full pool elevation of 3700) are subject to periodic <br />inundation and potential invasion by all species present in the reservoir. <br />Management efforts stated in this section will focus on streams above Lake <br />Powell full pool elevation, particularly emphasizing streams isolated from the <br />lake. <br />2. Stream Goal: Protect and preserve native species and habitats in streams <br />and isolated springs. <br />3. Stream Management Objectives <br />a. Protect water quality, water sources, and instream flows in streams <br />and isolated aquatic habitats. <br />b. Maintain native assemblages in streams. <br />c. Understand and protect unique isolated aquatic ecosystems within <br />61en Canyon NRA. <br />d. Conduct aquatic inventories of perennial streams. <br />e.
