Promote and regulate sport fisheries to ensure that they are <br />protected, utilized, and harvested to provide maximum recreational <br />angling opportunity while maintaining balance among species. <br />f. Monitor annual trends in relative abundance of Lake Powell fishes <br />and annual production and recruitment to determine current state of <br />fisheries and define future direction of management programs. <br />g. Gain knowledge of striped bass population dynamics which could then <br />be used to keep the population in balance with other species and <br />changing environmental conditions. <br />h. Develop consistent basic yield fisheries with a minimum of cyclical <br />swings in fish abundance and physical condition. <br />i. Maintain a stable black bass fishery comprised of both largemouth <br />and smallmouth bass. <br />j. Balance the striped bass fishery by providing an abundant angler <br />harvest of healthy basic yield size fish while maintaining a <br />consistent trophy sized component. <br />k. Promote complementary seasonal fisheries that add variety to the <br />Lake Powell experience and encourage a wide variety of anglers to <br />participate and then return to try it again. <br />1. Optimize angler opportunities to harvest striped bass. <br />m. Maintain static or rising lake level from April 1 to June 15 each <br />year. <br />n.
