<br />C. AUTHORIZED PARTICIPATING PROJECTS
<br />Twenty-one participating projects have been authorized by Congress.
<br />Eleven were authorized by the initial authorizing Act of April 1 1, 1956 (70 Stat.
<br />1051, two were authorized by the Act of June 13, 1963 (76 Stat. 961, three were
<br />authorized by the Act of September 2, 1964 (78 Stat. 852) and five were autho-
<br />rized by the Act of September 30, 1968 (82 Stat. 8861. Eleven are in Colorado,
<br />three in New Mexico, two in Utah, three in Wyoming, one in both Colorado and
<br />Wyoming and one in both Colorado and New Mexico. Participating projects
<br />develop, or would develop, water in the upper Colorado River system for irrigation,
<br />M&I uses and other purposes and participate in the use of revenues from the Upper
<br />Colorado River Basin Fund to help repay the costs of irrigation features that are
<br />beyond the ability of the water users to repay.
