To the south, headwaters of three Mexican drainage basin contri-
bute to the native Arizona fish fauna. These are the Rio Yaqui system,
which drains the extreme southeast corner of the state east of Douglas,
Cochise County (including the west and southwest sides of the Chiricahua
Mountains, the Rio Magdalena, which in part heads in Sycamore (or Bear)
Canyon a few miles west of Nogales, Santa Cruz County, and Rio Sonoyta
near Lukeville, Yuma County, -which adds to the fish of Arizona in its
former tributary, Quitobaquito Springs, Organ Pipe Cactus National
Monument (Map 2).
