<br />Last, survival to the juvenile stage in preda-
<br />tor-poor habitat of canals further strengthens
<br />the hypothesis (Minckley 1983, Marsh and
<br />Langhorst 1988) that attributes lack of recruit-
<br />ment by this imperiled species to direct pre-
<br />dation by introduced, nonnative piscivores.
