A comprehensive audit of all USGS
gages in New England to determine
unregulated status and basin charac-
teristics;
2. Verification of regulated/ unregulat-
ed stream status with local USGS units;
3. Obtaining August cfsm values from
flow duration data for each gage, based
on mean daily discharge data provid-
ed by the USGS;
4. Identification of key drainage basin
characteristics affecting the cfsm val-
ue ranges;
5. Sorting of streams into hydrologic re-
gions, based on results of (4) above;
6. Calculation of region-specific cfsm
values; and
7. Statistical significance testing of dif-
ferences among regions.
'N- 16 Rivers • Volume 1, Number 1 January 1990
