Representatives of the Study Team will give presentations on a proposed
process for the coordination of operations at participating reservoirs, the potential for releases of inflow,
the Recovery Program, and the Recovery Implementation Program Recovery Action Plan (RIPRAP)
activities. You are invited to attend any of the meetings at the following times and locations:
Frisco, Colorado - Tuesday, February 18, 1997, at 9:30 a.m., at the Frisco Town Hall, First and
Main, Frisco, Colorado
Glenwood Springs, Colorado - Tuesday, February 18, 1997, at 7:00 p.m., at the Hotel Colorado,
526 Pine Street, Glenwood Springs, Colorado
Grand Junction, Colorado - Wednesday, February 19, 1997, at 9:30 a.m., at the Ramada Inn, 2790
Crossroads Boulevard, Grand Junction, Colorado
The Study Team was established to evaluate opportunities to modify and coordinate the operations of
various reservoirs located in the Colorado River Basin upstream of the confluence of the Colorado and
Gunnison Rivers. The core of the Study Team is comprised of major reservoir owner/operators
representatives and water management entities involved with water use in the Colorado River Basin of
Colorado. The goal of coordinated reservoir operations is to enhance peak flows in the Colorado River
near Cameo for the improvement of endangered fish critical habitat. The operations and modifications
that have been considered are voluntary and discretionary in nature and do not affect project yields,
project safety, downstream safety, or the ability of reservoirs to fill.
If you have questions or need additional information regarding the meetings, please call Malcolm
Wilson at (970) 962-4362.
Sincerely,
Jack Garner, Area Manager
36
