Public Meetings Held During 1997 A total of four public meetings were held in 1997 as listed below to allow for public input: • Frisco, Colorado - Tuesday, February 18, 1997, at 9:30 a.m., at the Frisco Town Hall, First and Main, Frisco, Colorado • Glenwood Springs, Colorado - Tuesday, February 18, 1997, at 7:00 p.m., at the Hotel Colorado, 526 Pine Street, Glenwood Springs, Colorado • Grand Junction, Colorado - Wednesday, February 19, 1997, at 9:30 a.m., at the Ramada Inn, 2790 Crossroads Boulevard, Grand Junction, Colorado • Glenwood Springs, Colorado - Thursday, May 1, 1997 at 7:00 p.m., at the Hotel Colorado, 523 Pine Street, Glenwood Springs, Colorado Implementation Procedures for Committee Meetings and Public Meetings The following steps were taken to implement the Coordinated Reservoir Operations Program in 1997: December 10. 1996 • Review implementation schedule. • Develop interested parties mailing list. • Review press release prepared by U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. • Review public notice announcement to be mailed by Reclamation. • Assign task of locating meeting rooms. • Develop a list of meetings at which annual reservoir operations are explained and traditional dates for such meetings and explore opportunities for coordination. • Develop list of runoff forecast locations and discuss with NWS. • Determine what the reporting period for this effort should be. • Develop strategy for paying the cost of meeting rooms, public notice mailings and report publication. I January, 1997 1 • Schedule three public meetings (Frisco, Glenwood Springs, and Grand Junction). • Purpose: Explain recovery program, RIPRAP activities, coordinated reservoir operations and coordination process. • Mail out press release and public announcements 2 weeks in advance. 25
