It will reach 25 feet above the exist- <br />ing dam. At top left, the new embankment <br />approached the old dam road height at the <br />end of August 2006. <br />New reservoir <br />• Dam height: Rises by 25 feet from 80 feet to 105 feet; <br />Reservoir level to rise by 20 feet at fill. <br />• Spillway capacity: 28,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) to <br />meet safety standards for high runoff. <br />• Active water storage increase: Plus 11,750 acre-feet <br />(AF) for a total of 25,450 AF. Original pool was 13,700 <br />AF. <br />• 5,000 AF of the increase is allocated for endangered <br />fishes in the Yampa River, funded by the Upper <br />Colorado Endangered Fish Recovery Program. <br />• 6,750 AF funded by the Colorado River Water <br />Conservation District for future water needs in the <br />Yampa River Basin; 2,000 AF of this pool is to be leased <br />to the Recovery Program for 20 years as more water <br />for fish flows. <br />• The endangered fishes: Colorado pikeminnow, bony- <br />tail, razorback sucker, humpback chub.
