3. Construction on Salinity Units <br />a. Grand Valley - $3,915,000 <br />Work on Stage I Government Highline Canal was completed and <br />work continues on the Highline Laterals. Completion of work on moss and trash <br />screens will be accomplished. <br />b. Paradox Valley - $6,068,000 <br />A contract will be awarded for deep-well injection <br />testing and investigations will continue on brine disposal alternatives. <br />4. Rehabilitation and Betterment - <br />a. Rehabilitation and Betterment programs will continue <br />on the Uncompahgre and Grand Valley Projects and work will be initiated on <br />the Strawberry Valley Project. <br />b. Seepage studies at Fontenelle Dam are underway. <br />5. Recreation and Fish and Wildlife Facilities - $11,315,000 <br />a. New Construction <br />Includes water acquisition for instreamflows on the <br />Bonneville Unit, installation of facilities at Soldier Creek and Strawberry <br />Bay on the Bonneville Unit, and a boat ramp on the Dolores Project. <br />b. Ongoing Construction <br />Fish and wildlife activities will continue on the Seedskadee <br />Project and at Hotchkiss National Fish.Hatchery, and work on recreation <br />facilities will continue on the Wayne Aspinall Unit. <br />II. Water Outlook <br />A. General <br />The water outlook for water year 1983 is 96 percent of average. <br />Based on March 1 forecasts of inflow and release, total storage in the <br />Upper Colorado River System is expected to reach 98 percent of maximum usable <br />6
