From the comments received, the
service has provided another draft which is now in the FWS
director's office. Mr. Gould felt that recreational fishing
1 people would be pleased with the document, but it has been a
very difficult year trying to achieve a policy with the
balance that the executive order required.
' (2) A requirement for a conservation plan dictating
that the seven Department of Interior agencies complete a
conservation plan for recreational fishing. Currently,
draft #15 is being circulated to Department of Interior
agencies for final approval. The FWS goal is to have both
of the documents required under the executive order to the
STATE MEMBERSHIP: Arizona Game and Fish Department; California Department of Fish and Game; Colorado Division of Wildlife;
Nevada Department of Wildlife; New Mexico Department of Game and Fish; Utah Division of Wildlife Resources; Wyoming Game and Fish
Department COOPERATING FEDERAL AGENCIES: Bureau of Indian Affairs; Bureau of Land Management; Bureau of Reclamation;
Corps of Engineers; Environmental Protection Agency; Fish and Wildlife Service; Forest Service; National Park Service
