Biographical Information - Tom Pitts <br />Tom Pitts is Principal of Tom Pitts and Associates, <br />Consulting Engineers, Loveland, Colorado. His firm <br />specializes in providing assistance in regulatory compliance <br />matters to municipalities, industries and water development <br />interests. <br />Since 1983, he has served as project coordinator for the <br />Colorado Water Congress Special Project on Threatened and <br />Endangered Species and is involved in efforts to resolve <br />conflicts between endangered species protection and water <br />development in the Colorado River Basin and the Platte River <br />Basin. Tom represented water development interests in the <br />development of the Colorado River Recovery Program, and now <br />represents the Colorado Water Congress, Wyoming Water <br />Development Association and Utah Water Users Association on <br />the Recovery Program. He has participated in successful <br />Congressional lobbying efforts to obtain appropriations for <br />the Recovery Program including a $1,000,000 appropriation <br />for water rights acquisition. Tom serves as chairman of the <br />Recovery Program's Water Acquisition Committee, and <br />represents water users on other Recovery Program Committees.
