CLOSING COMMENTS

The upper North Platte River provides varied opportunities of which fishing
is an integral part. The wild trout management plan currently in force serves to
complement the untamed nature of the river, a portion of which is now included in
the National Wilderness System. In addition, that portion of the river under
statewide general regulations provides additional fishing opportunity for all
segments of the fi sh i ng pub 1 i c. Under th is management scheme, a un i que ri ver
which is capable of producing wild trout, will receive the protection required to
provide future generations with wild trout and quality wild trout fishing.

LITERATURE CITED

McDowell, R.A. 1983.
