Black bass populations can be established in suitably sized impound-
ments at altitudes less than 1900m (6200 ft.) in Wyoming. A wide array of
predator-prey combinations have been tried in areas with short growing sea~
sons, but none have been determined to be optimal for bass production. It
is reasonable to anticipate that a bass fishery could be maintained in
Wyoming with good impoundment management, especially with control and harvest
restrictions. Research is needed to develop predictive capabilities for
managers.
