All backwaters in the IS-Mile reach were seined during the spring (Valdez 1999). ..--J . ; LJ ~~ HABITAT COMPOSTION Preliminary analysis of habitat composition were based on habitat typing made subjectively during field surveying, and on partially completed hydraulic modeling that ':j I.J LJ quantified surface area of habitat type possessing combinations of depth and velocity attributes. The quantification of habitat types is still in process but some preliminary results are available and suggest that final results will validate the assumption that fish respond to physical habitat availability. The results given in last years' report indicated ritlles and runs were more common at l:.i U Duffy than at Sevens. At the time of this writing no 2-D results are available for the Sevens stations. 39
