The river has <br />multiple uses, including conveyance of floodwaters, recreation, natural habitat, and gravel <br />mining. A master drainageway planning study was prepared for an 11-mile reach of the river <br />that investigated floodplain/floodway limits and channel bed and bank stability problems. <br />Preliminary designs for environmentally sensitive mitigation measures to correct flooding and <br />channel stability problems were developed.
