recaptures occurred within one month of initial capture, and 25' occurred one
year or more after initial capture (Table 4). Seventeen fish were recaptured
within 5 mi of their original capture site--four of these 1 or more years after
initial capture. Three fish exhibited movement between Black Rocks and the
upper areas of Reach 4 similar to that described for radio-tagged fish. One
fish (No. 28, Table 2), initially captured from the pond at walter Walker
~ldlife Area (~) in spring 1982, was recaptured upstream from Black Rocks in
fall 1982 when it was equipped with a radio transmitter (Figure 2). That fish
moved back upstream to the vicinity of ~ in spring 1983, where it remained
until contact was lost in August. It was recaptured again from ~ in April,
1984. Although it was then equipped with a second transmitter, radio contact
was lost after release.
