<br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Results of this and other investigations indicate several factors <br />probably influence the size of the endangered fish populations of the upper <br />Colorado River basin. Ho~ever, the relative importance of these factors <br />undoubtedly differs among rivers and river reaches. For example, in reaches <br />immediately do~nstream from large dams the effects of reduced temperatures are <br />especially important ~hereas else~here introduced fishes or the scarcity of <br />important habitats might have major effects. Further investigation is <br />necessary to develop our understanding of those factors that limit the <br />endangered fishes of the upper basin and ho~ the effects of these factors <br />might be reduced or eliminated. <br /> <br />xii <br />
