Dates ot the <br /> <br />sampling excursions were October 6-8, 1961; May 9-14, 1962; and October <br />19-21, 1962. The ISWDJII8r investigations of 1962 began on June 26 and <br /> <br />ended on November 6. <br /> <br />study looations were established with the aid of contour <br /> <br />, maps and suggestions from local Park Service personnel. The permanent <br /> <br />locations chosen in downstream arrangement on the Green River were: <br /> <br />Brown's Park, Gates of Lodore, Echo Park, Island Park, and Split <br />l-buntain Campground near the downstream end of :Jpli t Hountain Gorge <br />(Figure 2). A station was also established at Castle Park near the <br /> <br />}.!antl. Ranch on the Yampa River. Notes were made on fish speoies <br /> <br />collections from the different types of habitat following each sampling <br /> <br />effort. <br /> <br />The sampling effort of Ootober, 1961. <br /> <br />Dr. Harold K. Hagen and 26 students in fisheries science <br /> <br />from Colorado state University traveled to the thesis area on October <br /> <br />7. Field crews ot five man each were assigned to locations at Brown's <br /> <br />Park, Gates of Lodore, Echo Park, Castle Park on the lampa River, and <br /> <br />Split Mountain Campground. Each field crew was equipped with at least <br /> <br />two tied bag seines or straight seines, two experimental gill nets, <br /> <br />a square foot bottom-sampler, containers for preserving specimens, <br /> <br />and formalin. Each orew sampled its assigned area independently. <br /> <br />Dr. Hagen acted as ooordinator between units. <br /> <br />The sampling effort ot ray, 1962 <br /> <br />On r.Jay 9.
