<br />(TL) and received a PIT tag. The stocked bonytail were approximately 90-177 mm TL, with an <br />average of approximately 130 mm. <br /> <br />1997 - In 1997,2,164 age 0 bonytail from Wahweap were stocked on October 18 at RM 94.3, <br />just below the 1996 stocking site (Table 1, Figure 3). All fish were measured for TL and received <br />a PIT tag. Average TL for the stocked fish was 129.5 mm, with a range of 80-178 mm. <br /> <br />1998 - Several stocking events took place during 1998 in the Colorado River and for the first time <br />in the Green River (Table 1, Figures 3 and 5). Three different age classes were stocked in the <br />Colorado River in the spring and fall. All fish stocked into the Colorado River were released at <br />RM 94.3, measured for TL and implanted with a PIT tag. On March 18, 104 of the 1996 cohort <br />were stocked into the Colorado River with an average TL of 316.2 mm. On April 20, 2,812 of <br />the 1997 cohort were stocked with an average TL of 112.4 mm. On October 14, 1,436 of the <br />1997 cohort were stocked with an average TL of 124.0 mm. The final stocking ofbonytail on the <br />Colorado River in 1998 was on October 27 when 796 of the 1997 cohort (average TL 124.0 mm) <br />and 1,048 of the 1998 cohort (average TL 120.0 mm) were released (Table 1, Figure 3). Three <br />thousand bonytail were stocked into the Green River on October 27 (Table 1, Figure 5). These <br />fish were released at RM 120.0 (Green River State Park), measured (TL) and PIT tagged. <br />Average TL of these 1997 age class fish at release was 124.0 mm. <br /> <br />1999 - Twenty thousand bonytail from the 1998 cohort were stocked into the Colorado and <br />Green rivers on April 23, 1999 (Table 1, Figures 4-5). Ten thousand were stocked at RM 94.3 <br />into the Colorado River and 10,000 at RM 120.0 into the Green River. Average TL for all fish <br />stocked was 93 mm, and all fish were implanted with a coded wire tag. <br /> <br />2000 - Several releases ofbonytail took place on the Colorado and Green rivers, and resulted in <br />the largest stocking ofbonytail since the program began (Table I, Figures 4-5). On April 20, <br />15,037 bonytail (1997 cohort, average TL 78.7 mm) were released at RM 94.3 into the Colorado <br />River. Another 19,000 of this cohort (average TL 169.0 mm) were released at the same location <br />on October 30, along with 2,237 of the 2000 cohort (average TL 97.0 mm). On the Green River, <br />9,962 bonytail (1998 cohort, average TL 187.4 mm) were released at Green River State Park <br />(RM 120.0) in addition to fourteen others with radio tags (1996 cohort, average TL 410.7 mm). <br />A fall stocking occurred on the Green River on October 30 when 10,025 of the 1999 age class <br />fish (average TL 93.7 mm) were released at the same location. The Yampa River received its first <br />stocking of 10,000 bonytail (1999 cohort, average TL 114.0 mm) on July 14. All fish excluding <br />the radio tagged fish were implanted with coded wire tags prior to stocking. <br /> <br />2001 - Two stockings ofbonytail were completed in 2001 (Table 1, Figures 4 and 6). The <br />Colorado River at Cisco boat ramp (RM 110.0) received 20,907 (2000 cohort, average TL 81.6 <br />mm) and 7,061 of the 1999 (average TL 134.1 mm) bonytail in April. Approximately 41,522 of <br />the 2000 cohort (average TL 81.57 mm) and 5,000 of the 1999 cohort (average TL 134.1 mm) <br />were stocked into the Green River at Green River, UT (RM 120.0) in April. In addition, the <br />Colorado Division of Wildlife stocked 20,000 bonytail (2000 cohort, average TL 81.57 mrn) in <br /> <br />8 <br />
