Date Use Guidelines and Restrictions

Use of the Natural Heritage Central Database information provided by the Conservancy to the
Service shall be governed by the following provisions. Any products derived from these data for
distribution by the Service shall include these provisions printed at the beginning of the document:

A. This data is the product of the Natural Heritage Central Database developed
collaboratively by The Nature Conservancy and the Network of Natural Heritage
Programs. Questions about interpretation of this information should be referred to The
Nature Conservancy's International Headquarters (contact Leslie Honey at 703-247-3743)
or the relevant State Natural Heritage Program (see Heritage Directory for contacts). The
Nature Conservancy reserves all rights in data provided not expressly granted to the
Service. All data are provided as is. The Conservancy makes no warranty as to the
completeness or accuracy of any specific data. This data set represents current national-
level data maintained by the Conservancy. Individual State Natural Heritage Programs
maintain the most current state-level information and should be contacted directly for such
information.

B. The Service may use these data for its own internal purposes, and for studies and projects
which it conducts or causes to have conducted on its behalf. The Service may not make
duplicate electronic copies of the entire data set provided, but may provide to its regional
or state offices paper or electronic copies of information on all taxa pertinent to that
region or state.

C. The data provided by the Conservancy are intended for the sole use of the Service. They
are not to be redistributed to other agencies, organizations, companies, or individuals
without prior written consent of the Conservancy. Outside requests that the Service
receives for copies of the lists or other reports, or portions thereof, should be directed to
the Conservancy or the appropriate State Natural Heritage Program.

D. The databases from which this data set derives are being continuously updated. The
Nature Conservancy recommends that this data not be used longer than one year after
initial delivery, pending provision of updated data sets.

E. In an effort to continue improving the quality and usefulness of these data, user feedback
is requested. Please provide feedback on any errors of omission or commission detected
in the data set provided. Feedback on global or national level data (e.g., GRANKs)
should be provided to the Conservancy and feedback on state level data (e.g., SRANKs)
should be provided to the appropriate State Natural Heritage Program. Such notification
should be sent to: The Nature Conservancy, 1815 North Lynn Street, Arlington, Virginia
22209, Attn: Leslie Honey (1honey@tnc.org) or the appropriate State Natural Heritage
Program (see Heritage Directory for addresses).
