Kansas that threaten the largest remaining populations
(Tabor 1993) .

Improve farming practices to reduce siltation and
dewatering. Stop construction of tributary impoundments and
channelization. Acquisition of land is not effective unless
entire watershed appropriately managed. Promote permanent
grass cover over tillage.

GSTEWNEED:

Monitor populations and water quality at protected sites.
