10

of the significance value. Below this value, correlations were considered
weak to nonexistent.

Comparison with Colorado River results

Effects of flow parameters on reproductive success of various fish species
has also been examined in the upper mainstem Colorado River above Cataract
Canyon (McAda and Kaeding 1989, Osmundson and Kaeding 1989, Osmundson and
Kaeding 1990 in draft), the Colorado River within Cataract Canyon (Valdez
1990), and in the Green River between the Yampa and Colorado river confluences
(Haines and Tyus 1990). The original intent of this report was to combine
information on flow effects for both the Yampa and Colorado rivers, however,
publication of the Colorado River data by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
within McAda and Kaeding (1989), Osmundson and Kaeding (1989), and Osmundson
and Kaeding (1990 in draft) obviates the need for doing so. The intent here
is to point out these similarities among the various studies, and also examine
differences that may be important.
