Title: Gamefish predation upon endangered fishes. <br /> <br />Objective: To determine the incidence of predation by non-native, non- <br />sa1monid gamefish species upon the endangered fishes. <br /> <br />Job 3. Title: Northern pike habitat utilization. <br /> <br />Objective: To determine relative habitat utilization and preferences of adult <br />northern pike versus Colorado squawfish in the Yampa River during <br />pre-runoff, runoff, and post-runoff flow regimes. <br /> <br />Job 4. Title: Annual progress report. <br /> <br />Objective: This report will be completed by April 1991, and submitted to all <br />interested parties. <br /> <br />Job 5. <br /> <br />Title: <br /> <br />Flow regime effects on reproductive success of native <br />and non-native fishes in the Yampa and Colorado <br />rivers. <br /> <br />Objective: To determine the effect of spring discharge in the Yampa and <br />Colorado rivers upon the reproductive success of native and non- <br />native fishes using existing CDOW and FWS seine catch/effort data. <br /> <br />Job 6. <br /> <br />Title: <br /> <br />Standardized monitoring surveys <br /> <br />Objectives: <br /> <br />1) Determine trends in the populations of the endangered fishes; <br />2) Develop empirical models that aid our understanding of the environmental <br />variables that affect these population trends; <br />3) Determine the efficacy of management actions intended to aid in recovery <br />of the species; and <br />4) Assist in establishment of definitive recovery goals. <br /> <br />Job 7. <br /> <br />Title: <br /> <br />Management Strategy for Exotic Fishes Affects on <br />Endangered Fishes <br /> <br />Objectives: <br /> <br />1) to review potential negative impacts of undesirable, nonnative fish <br />species on the endangered Colorado River fishes; <br />2) to assess management options available to minimize negative impacts; and <br />3) to develop an overall strategy to address the overall problem. <br />
