Enclosed is a report funded by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service titled:

Hawkins, J. A. 1991. Age and Growth of Colorado squawfish from the upper
Colorado River Basin. 1978-1990, Final report. Larval Fish Laboratory,
Colorado State University, Fort Collins. 64p.

This report is the first age and growth analysis of wild Colorado squawfish since
1978 work performed by Karl Seethaler. John is using the data in this report as
the basis for a Master's thesis, and will follow-up with additional work on the
use and comparison of other bony structures for ageing of Colorado squawfish.
Additional comparisons of growth between year classes of fish will also be
addressed. We expect the completion of Hawkins' MS thesis in the winter of 1991
to supersede this report. Comments regarding this report are welcome and may be
sent to Hawkins at the Dept. of Fishery and Wildlife Biology, Colorado State
University, Ft. Collins, CO. 80523.
