Suttkt:.s <br />Tulane University <br /> <br />A float trip was made starting at Lee's Ferry on Septe~ber <br />1, 1976 and terminating at Pierce's Verry Landing on September 9, <br /> <br />1916. The following individuals were 1'0 our group Glenn H. Clemmer, <br /> <br />Robert D. Fisher (Lee's Ferry to Lower B~BS Camp), Clyde Jones, C. <br /> <br />Robert Shoop and myself. We were unable to include a label writer <br /> <br />I <br />which would have helped considerably with the recording. Mary Jo <br /> <br />Gonzales did help with labeling of plant sheets during the first <br /> <br />part Il'jf trip above Phantom Ranch. <br /> <br />We began our study at Lee's ~erry on August 31, 1976 and finished <br /> <br />prep~u:'a t ton of rnarr..ma Is ell ught a t Scorpion Island on !~eptemb$r 10 <br /> <br />in a motel in 'F'lags:ta ff . Prior to the fica t trip the f1 ve membeI'8 <br /> <br />above plus JaMes D. Williams collected fishes from the Green River <br />end upper Colorado ill Utah. nr. tlTillia!ilS from the El'ldangered Species <br /> <br />Office was c~lled back to Washington tn participate in 3 meeting <br /> <br />with TVA. He was not able to rejoin us for the float trip which had <br /> <br />been his plans. <br /> <br />The Gurvey collections from the upper part of tho system ar~ <br /> <br />mentioned and their importance as comparative material can not be <br /> <br />overemphasized. As you realize our requested budget for the Grand <br /> <br />Canyon was cut drastically and so all of the survey work in the <br /> <br />upper part of the drainage is at our own expense. Naturally the <br />Park Service benefits from the added information that we obtain <br />
