<br />Riverine Model <br /> <br />t <br /> <br />This model utilizes the life requisite approach and consists of three <br />components: cover; water quality; and reproduction. The generated HSI applies <br />to resident fish in streams. However, the water quality and reproduction <br />components can also be used for deriving a reproduction component score in the <br />lacustrine model. <br /> <br />Water Quality (CWQ)' <br /> <br />CWQ = the lowest SI rating of VI' V2, VJ, or V4. <br /> <br />Reproduction (CR). <br /> <br />CR = the lowest SI rating of Vs, V6, V" Va. <br /> <br />Cover (CC). <br /> <br />(Vg + VlO) <br />Cc = 2 <br /> <br />HSI determination. <br /> <br />t <br /> <br />1/3 <br />HSI = (CWQ x CR x CC) <br /> <br />If CWQ or CR ~ 0.4, the HSI equals the lowest of the following: <br />CWQ; CR; or the HSI rating from the above equation. <br /> <br />Data from application of the riverine HSI model at LaGarde Creek, <br />Colorado, are listed in Table 2.
