<br />ACKNOWLEDGMENTS <br /> <br />We thank Mr. Bob Williams and the USSR Upper Colorado Region for funding this <br />2-year study designed to characterize selected backwaters of the Green River <br />limnologically and to describe some aspects of trophic interactions in these <br />backwaters. Dr. Harold Tyus, US Fish and Wildlife Service Technical Officer, <br />and others of the USFWS Colorado River Fishery Project Office, Vernal, Utah, <br />provided assistance in study design, selection of study areas, and field <br />collections. Personnel from the USBR Denver Office's Environmental Sciences <br />Section assisted frequently with fieldwork. Other individuals and agencies <br />provided valuable input regarding aspects of sampling, data analysis and <br />report review. Dr. Charles liston, IPA from Michigan State University in the <br />Environmental Sciences Section, provided suggestions for study design and data <br />analysis. <br />
