WHERE DATA COLLECTED: Green and Yampa Rivers.

CURVE SET:

WHERE CURVES APPLY: Green, Colorado, Yampa rivers in confirmed or
suspected spawning areas.

WHEN DATA COLLECTED: July - August

WHEN CURVES APPLY: Application of curves should be tied to spawning
and in conjunction with staging curves; Time
should be determined by examining hydrologic
records to determine conditions of flow and
temperature suitable for spawning.

HOW DATA COLLECTED: Radiotelemetry

PARAMETERS: Depth = total water column depth in feet at point of
triangulation.

Velocity = mean water column velocity in feet/second at
point of triangulation.

Substrate = at point of triangulation; substrate used was an
overlay of the Green and Yampa River data,
because substrate data from the Green River
reflected use of larger materials (cobble) while
data from the Yampa River showed use of large
and small material (cobble and gravel); see
Table C-l.

Habitat = see Table C-2.

CONFIDENCE RATINGS: IC_II for depth, velocity, substrate on Green and
Yampa rivers, because of small sample size and
limited number of spawning sites involved; IDI
for depth, velocity, substrate on Colorado
River, because data from another river system.

CONSTRAINTS:

1. Application of curves should be tied to spawning times and in
conjunction with staging curves.

2. Apply only in confirmed or suspected spawning areas.

QUALIFIERS:

1. Radiotelemetry data used instead of available data from
conventional gears when statistical tests showed significant
differences in gear types, and radiotelemetry data were
observed to better represent habitat use.
