1.12 <br />a variety of permits from Reclamation, Forest Service, and Corps of Engineers, <br />and County permits or approvals, among others. <br />It is the intent of Reclamation to enter into long-term (20 to 40 years) <br />water service contracts with prospective water users. The contracts may include <br />an option to renew the contract for successive terms pursuant to negotiations <br />based on policies, rules, and regulations in effect at the time of the renewal. <br />It is currently envisioned that such water service contracts would have a service <br />rate which includes a delivery charge and a standby charge. The delivery charge <br />may be graduated according to volumes delivered. The charges may be increased <br />over the life of the contract due to increases in the cost of providing <br />services. The water contracts may be awarded by competitive bidding, through <br />negotiations, or both. The charges for industrial water are expected to be <br />higher than the water charges to municipalities.
