SITE - SPECIFIC COMMENTS

In addition to these general comments, several respondents provided detailed site - specific
comments which are summarized below (USFWS - United States Fish and Wildlife Service;
WGFD - Wyoming Game and Fish Department; NWF - National Wildlife Federation):

Connected Lakes - Small (M>wer (J ~ke)

1.

U.S.F.W.S. - concerned lake is within 4G-yr. floodplain; Service personnel estimated the
river was within 6-8 inches of the top of the berm during a 10 year flood event in 1993.
If lake is within 40-yr. floodplain, Service recommends no stocking of warmwater fish.
May wish to reconnect site to river to provide backwater habitat.

2.

WGFD - concerned about location of water relative to 4G-yr. floodplain. Commented on
proximity of this water to important backwater areas of the Colorado River.

3.

NWF - believe lake is within 4G-yr. floodplain. Believe water should be used as research
site or connected to river. Oppose any warmwater stocking.

Connected Lakes - Large ~
If 6.A -(- S .~ ~ L I
USFWS - not opposed to implementing LMP for this pond. ,,1tJ -r ,z.li...... ~o& f Yl '1

1.

2.

WGFD - concerned about potential presence of escaped centrarchids in backwater
habitats.

Corn Lake

1. USFWS - outflow channel should be screened. Uncertain as to its position in the
floodplain. Assuming water is not in floodplain, Service will approve LMP if outflow is
screened.

2. WGFD - uncertainty of location in floodplain. Proximity to backwater areas should
centrarchids escape.

3. NWF - will not oppose stocking if water is outside 40-yr. floodplain and outlet is
screened.

4
