<br />Generally, the Crystal Reservoir release equals the Blue Mesa release plus Blue Mesa to Crystal side <br />inflows. <br />The Redlands Diversion Dam, located near the lower end of the Gunnison River, diverts water for <br />irrigation and hydroelectric power. Rules in the RiverWare Model allow the RedlandsDiversion Dam to <br />divert up to 820 cfs (approximate physical capacity) except when diversions of amounts greater than 750 <br />cfs would cause the flow in the river below the diversion to drop below 300 cfs (FERC permit criteria). <br />Redlands Diversion is also precluded from diverting specific release from the Aspinall Unit which are <br />intended to maintain the 300 cfs minimum. <br /> <br />A -3- <br />
