The actua:! concentration of the high concentration sample was 11.5
ngldl compared to a mean (:t 95% CI) measured value of 12.5 :t 1.2 ngldl.
(n=6).

Mean nonspecific binding (:t 95% CI) (NSB) was measured at 341 :t 22
counts per minute (cpm) compared to 56,427 :t 306 cpm measured in total
count tubes (TCT). Each of ten blank tubes contained 0 cpm of
radioactivity. The mean cpm :t 95% CI of ten tubes that received 25 ~I of
1251-T4 was 1313 :t 125 cpm or about an 8.8% error. Coefficient of
variation was 9.43. The mean cpm (:t 95% CI) of ten tubes that contained 1
ml of 1251-T4 was 56,427 :t 306 cpm or about a 2% error. The coefficient
of vaiation was 0.9. A frequency distribution of percent error of duplicate
flannelmouth suckers samples is presented in Fig 5. The mean precent
error (:t 95% CI) of 270 duplicate samples was 8.2 :t 1.5%. The mean
percent error of duplicate samples (8.2 :t 1.5%) was uniform with the 8.8
percent error noted in pipetting the 25 ~I samples.

13
