The White Rim cliff rising above an
Organ Rock slope that is partly covered
bv talus f()J"(Ils the rim or the incised
oxbow (a cutoff meander) that sur-
rounds Andersoll Bottom. This oxbow
is on(' or the farthest downstream on
the Green and Colorado rivers and
\vas probably cut off in late Pleistocene
time; '1'llOmpson, in 11l71, was espe-
ciallv impressed with the cutoff having
occulTed so rccentlv. The broad floor
of the bollom near the river is covered
by IIo]ocene alluvium. Some or the
