now crossed the river and arc on its
southwest hank, looking west-llOrth-
west lip the Trin-^IcO\T. 0111' exact lo-
cation is has cd on the distinctive (CllT-
ground rock, 100ver right, and an abut-
ment or the C<l1Ivon wall in lhe lower
left.
The vegelation has changed less than
one wOllld expecl. An oak tlTe in the
!cJregroulHI or Beaman's piclulT is now
dead, but YOllng shoots han' spnlllg
lip at its base. l\losl orllw trees on (he
(loor or t1l<' canyon arc cot tonwoods,
and at least two of' lhe larger ones in
lhe IB7I pic(lII'e arc still ali\'('.
The canyon is (loured by alluviulIl
derived rrotn the Navajo Sandstone,

No dissection, howcver, can he seen in
