Because the method <br />is noninvasive and allows repeated sampling of individual and groups of fish, it would <br />appear to have particular application in experiments designed to investigate the effects <br />of various biotic and abiotic factors on feed-growth relationships and energy partition- <br />ing (Jobling et al., 1989; Christiansen et al., 1992, Jorgensen et al., 1993). <br />ACKNOWLEDGMENTS <br />The support of the Norwegian Council of Fisheries Research (NFFR Project Nos.
