The young are important as forage <br />fish and also, to a limited extent, as bait. <br />It will take a spinner, doughball, or worm readily and consti- <br />tutes a "sportfish" for youngsters in parts of its range. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Range <br /> <br />The Colorado chub, as the name implies, is native to the Colo- <br />rado River Basin, occuring from near the mouth of the River in <br />Mexico well up into the headwaters in Wyoming and Colorado. It <br />is decreasing in abundance, however, as the Colorado continues to be <br />modified by man (Miller, 1961). <br /> <br />"2 <br /> <br />.
