<br />. . <br /> <br />Computerized List of <br />IFG Training Graduates <br /> <br />We plan to issue the Instream Flow Chronicle in- <br />forma lly on a quarterly basTs~-The purposesof thi s <br />announcement are threefold. First, it is intended to <br />describe, announce, and advertise the upcoming courses <br />on the IFIM. This will take the place of several <br />course announcements which we have been mailina each <br />year. Second, the Instream Flow Chronicle is an <br />opportunity for our ciTentsto read'''one-ortwo brief <br />essays on the use of the IFIM. This should help <br />answer the questions often asked of Conference Center <br />staff regarding the frequency and type of use made of <br />the I FIM. The announcement is, therefore, an oppor- <br />tunity for our former students to share with pro- <br />fessionals involved in instream flow work some of <br />their experiences in solving difficult problems. The <br />essay by J. Mark Robinson, featured in this announce- <br />ment is a good example. Others who may wish to submit <br />an essay are invited to do so. Look for a section on new <br />publications and reports in future issues. <br /> <br />The Instream Flow Group (IFG) has completed a <br />computer-based record of individuals who have com- <br />pleted various IFG training courses since October <br />1980. This computerized list includes the following <br />information: name, affiliation, address, and courses <br />completed. The information is organized according to <br />a person's affiliation. These data are useful to <br />agencies for determining training needs. Others may <br />wish to assess the level of individual experience <br />and/or the expertise of personnel at a field office. <br />Those who need to identify or locate trained in- <br />dividuals may obtain information by contacting <br />Richard J. Thi s has been done through a <br />cooperative agreement with the Western Energy and Land <br />Use Team of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Over <br />the years the staff of the Conference Center has <br />received a number of questions concerning the courses, <br />use of the IFIM, and current 1 iterature on instream <br />flows.
