RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Short-term <br />r 1) Adopt N. as a mean IMO for each population (Table 7). <br />I2) Initiate a monitoring program for N? N and expand ISNT to include other species and <br />population estimates. <br />' 3) Review and update IMOs on a regular basis as new information becomes available. <br />4) Identify the populations required to meet down-fisting criteria. <br />5) Identify habitat improvement actions required to meet down-listing criteria. <br />Long-term <br />1) Obtain fife-stage information that would enhance the ability of the Crowl and Bouwes <br />(1998) life-stage model to predict demographic stochasticity. This information should be <br />attained by conducting the studies outlined in their model description document. <br />2) Develop long-term recovery objectives based on demographic model refinement. <br /> <br />t <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />C <br />3) Identify, categorize, and implement management actions that specifically reduce the threats <br />specified within the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended: <br />A) The present or threatened destruction, modification, or curtailment of its habitat or <br />range, <br />B) Over utilization for commercial, recreational, scientific, or educational purposes, <br />C). Disease, predation, competition and hybridization, <br />D) The adequacy of existing regulatory mechanisms, <br />E) Other natural or human induced factors affecting its continued existence. <br />29 <br />
