<br />Green Mountain Reservoir <br /> <br />1. Primary commitments are: 52,000 acre-feet for replacement <br />for downstream rights; 5,000 acre-feet committed to Silt <br />Project and 19,500 acre-feet to Grand Valley for irrigation <br />use. Drawdown restrictions placed on Green Mountain Reservoir <br />now limits use to above-named functions plus the Atlantic <br />Richfield and Carter Oil Company (Subsidiary of EXXON) proposed <br />contracts for oil shale development on Colorado leases B and A <br />at 50 and 150 KBCD, respectively. <br /> <br />Ruedi Reservoir <br /> <br />1. No firm division of yield from Ruedi determined as to <br />replacement storage and fishery releases and water available for <br />marketing. Gulf-Standard of Indiana has applied to contract <br />for 30,000 acre-feet with delivery to begin in 1980 for oil <br />shale development. No contract executed. <br /> <br />Joes Valley <br /> <br />1. Under the Emery County Participating Project, 6000 AF/YR of <br />M&I allocation is used by Utah Power and Light Company at its <br />Huntington Canyon Powerplant which has one 430 MW unit. <br /> <br />Lake Powell <br /> <br />1. Navajo Powerp1ant - A consortium of power users are building <br />the 3 unit Navajo Powerplant along the east shore. Coal is <br />, transported from Black Mesa in northeast Arizona by unit train. <br />The first 750 Mw unit began generation in May 1974. Two addi- <br />tional 750 Mw units are under construction with expected in- <br />service dates of 1975 and 1976. <br /> <br />2. Resources Inc./Kaiparowits - An option contract of 102,000 <br />AF/YR for development of a 3000 Mw coal-fired powerplant is in <br />force although expected water use is only 45,000 AF/YR. <br /> <br />Water Quality - The following tabulation presents present modified <br />salinity concentrations for some typical stream locations in the Upper <br />Colorado River Basin. Present modified refers to the historic condi- <br />tions (1941-1970) modified to reflect all upstream existing projects <br />in operation for the full 1941-1970 period. <br /> <br />33 <br />
