Location map of area encompassed in this study. <br />The annual discharge of the Colorado River in this area is dominated by a spring snowmelt <br />that usually peaks in late May or early June (Fig. 2). The natural flow regime of the river is <br />affected by storage in upstream reservoirs and by irrigation withdrawals, particularly in the late <br />summer.
