The following agenda <br />items were discussed: <br />1. Status of Ash Meadows. Tasker Edmiston reported that, following the November, 1977 <br />Symposium, he toured Ash Meadows with Bob Love and photographed all of the major <br />springs. Enlargements have been forwarded to Senator Alan Cranston's office. <br />Word received from Senator Cranston during the week of February 27 revealed that <br />S.2589, to establish a Desert Pupfish National Monument, has been introduced. <br />In order to assist Senator Cranston in this respect, the Council will prepare an <br />information packet at the earliest possible date, with the specific assignments as <br />follows: <br />Invertebrates <br />Fishes <br />Plants <br />Birds and Mammals <br />Archaeology <br />Herpetology <br />Hydrology <br />Land ownership <br />Jerry Landye <br />Doug Selby <br />Gail Kobetich <br />Jim Reveal <br />Pete Sanchez <br />Doug Selby <br />Pete Mehringer via <br />Jerry Landye <br />U.N.L.V. via Jim Deacon <br />Bill Dudley's report <br />(U.S.G.S. Final submission will be made to <br />Senator Cranston by Tasker and Beula Edmiston. <br />2. Status of BIM California State Office fishery biologist position. A resolution <br />endorsing the re-establishment of this position has been prepared and will be <br />forwarded to the California State Director at an early date.
