We thank the many individuals that provided assistance on this project. The Ute Tribal Council
gave us permission to work on tribal land, and Robert Chapoose and Mike Montoya of the Ute
Tribe Fish and Game served as coordinators. Mike Montoya and several of his staff assisted
with much of the field work. Several seasonal technicians of the Utah Division of Wildlife
Resources, Northeastern Region Office also provided much field assistance. This study was
funded by the Recovery Implementation Program for Endangered Fish Species in the Upper
Colorado River Basin. The Recovery Program is ajoint effort of the U.S, Fish and Wildlife
Service, U,S. Bureau of Reclamation, Western Area Power Administration, states of Colorado,
Utah, and Wyoming, Upper Basin water users, environmental organizations, the Colorado River
Energy Distributors Association, and the National Park Service.
