3. Experimentally treat 1-3 high-density centrarchid backwaters with rotenone or
other chemical piscicide while seasonally isolated from the main-channel and then
monitor recolonization rates.
4. Perform experimental manipulations of structure (removal or addition of rocks,
branches, vegetation, etc.) in centrarchid-inhabited backwaters and then evaluate
effects on centrarchid abundance.
5. Using information obtained from implementing recommendations 1-4, develop
new, comprehensive, systematic approach to centrarchid control.
