We would also like to express our
appreciation to the USFWS technicians who helped collect field data and
maintain equipment during the course of the study. John Andersen, Andy
Thompson, Tom Dombroski, Doy Gardner and Jay Thompson spent many long
hours on the river; the high quality of assistance they provided was
pivotal in the successful completion of this work. Charles McAda provid-
ed invaluable guidance in data management and analysis. Bob Burdick
assumed the lead role in procuring equipment, repairing outboard motors,.
and fabricating and maintaining field gear to his usual high standards.
Both he and C. McAda also provided occasional assistance in the field and
ran innumerable shuttles to launch and take-out sites. Karen Olds and
Cheryl Harris provided administrative support. Darrell Snyder, Bob Muth
and their associates at the Larval Fish Laboratory at Colorado State
University sorted and identified hundreds of larval and young-of-the-year
fish samples. Finally, we extend our gratitude to those Colorado River
researchers and field crews before us who collected the data referenced
in this report.
ii
