Black lines at the upper end of the 15-mile reach and 2.2 miles up <br />the Gunnison River mark the locations of diversion dams that block upstream movement of fish. <br />A recently constructed fish ladder at the Gunnison River barrier should allow future access of <br />Colorado River endangered fish to upstream reaches of the Gunnison River. Black lines also <br />mark the extent of Westwater Canyon, a transition zone between habitat for juvenile (lower <br />reach) and adult (upper reach) Colorado squawfish. <br />2
