Trout require clean gravel for adequate replenishment of dissolved <br />oxygen and to remove waste products. Percentage of each substrate size class can be <br />used to predict potential emergence (Miller et al. 1998). Additional substrate samples <br />will be collected in February at the end of the brown trout spawning monitoring and the <br />beginning of the rainbow trout monitoring. <br />2001 Results <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />During 2001, the artificial redds were created in October and measurements were <br />conducted in November (Table 5).
